A luxury pillow with a fabulous cool side in the middle of the night. This one is a keeper.
Soak & Sleep is a serious source of quality pillows of many sorts. The website is clear, straightforward and presents far more information than you would normally find on any of the other mainstream sites – there’s a video about how this particular pillow is made for example. What is more, they offer many of their pillows in many different sizes – standard, superking, square, neck etc.
So what of the actual pillow? Well, to be honest I didn’t know what to expect as I haven’t tried a silk pillow before. Verdict? Impressed. It is definitely an indulgent bedding choice and suggests a bit of bed-time pampering but is it any good to sleep on?
I knew silk was soft but I didn’t know that it was also supportive. It’s certainly not as floppy as down and keeps its shape through the night much better. The best thing I found out was that silk is really good for people with allergies as its got natural properties that resist dust mites. Silk is also supposed to keep you cool and wick away moisture if you get hot at night.
£70 is certainly not a cheap pillow, but it’s on a par with low-end down pillows. Soak and Sleep currently say this is half-price too (we need to keep checking on that claim!). It has a greater weight and solidity than down pillows, and certainly seemed to have a fabulous cool side in the middle of the night.
I never thought I’d say it but I prefer this to a down pillow. I think its better value overall and gives a better night’s sleep. This one is a keeper.
