MOONA – THE £300 ‘SLEEP SYSTEM’ WHICH PROMISES A PERFECT NIGHT.
How much would you pay for the perfect night’s sleep? How does £300 sound?
Recently in the news has been Moona, a smart sleep system that promises to help you snooze like you’ve never snoozed before.
But £300?  What does it do to make it worth that chunk of change…?
This Kickstarter idea has been developed on the basis that temperature is a key influencer on how well we sleep. Our body temperature drops during the night which impacts on our sleeping habits, hence the tossing and turning.
Moona has been designed to enhance your sleep experience by keeping your head and neck at the optimum temperature while learning and adapting to your sleeping habits.
The temperature of your pillow is regulated through a thick memory foam pad that you slip into your pillowcase on top of your existing pillow. The pad is connected to a control device, which is essentially a small water tank, that circulates water through the pad to maintain the ideal temperature of your pillow throughout the night. The system can be operated through an app or by using a remote control.
Prior to using Moona, you fill out a sleep questionnaire and, over the course of the first few days, the app learns your sleeping habits through information sent to it by sensors in the pad that monitor how and when you move while you’re asleep. The app then adjusts the temperature in the pad accordingly.
The product is currently being developed in France after meeting its crowdfunding target in under 24 hours and hopes to launch in June 2018 with a ticket price of around £300.
