Final Thoughts

Soft & padded. Not my cup of tea, but a popular value buy. We prefer the John Lewis ones or the Silentnight anti-allergy instead.

These have had loads of positive feedback.  At just £4.50 each, these pillow protectors are cheap, are from a reputable manufacturer and you’ll get them quickly if you buy them from Tescos.

Silentnight have created an extremely soft and padded pillow protector with the extra added microfibre filling.  The covers are gentle to the touch and the colour a nice, bright white.

All good.  Except for me, they need zips. Maybe it’s my age, but I just don’t have the time or energy for a fight between pillow, pillowcase AND protector every time I change the bed.  The 20% extra padding sounds like a winning idea, and is certainly very comfy but don’t forget, there’s probably not a lot of point in having your favourite down & feather pillow smothered with layers of polyester.

Ooh – now I feel like I’m moaning. I’m not, really I’m not –  don’t let me put you off. These are great value pillow protectors if you want extra padding for your microfibre pillows.

If you want a quilted pillow protector with an easy, snug fit, go for the John Lewis ones:  – review here: John Lewis quilted pillow protectors     Also note that Silentnight do a very similar Anti-Allergy Quilted Pillow Protector which we reviewed here – it’s the same feel and value just with the added bonus of being anti-allergy.   Personally – we think either of these two are better buys.
